A ship of more than one hundred people, employees of HK Electric and their family and friends, was hit by another ship near Lamma Island and sank tail first. More than 30 people were found dead.
The ship was heading to the firework display in Victoria Harbour commemorating the establishment of PRC when it collided with another ship. The firework, however, went on.
